JF506E - In 1999, a 5-speed gearbox for FWD cars with engines up to 3.8L was introduced to the European market. Used as an alternative to expensive AW55-50SN boxes from Aisin Warner and 5HP19 / 5HP24 from ZF. After several modifications, it began to be widely used in Nissan as the RE5F01A and Mazda as the JA5A-EL. Audi and Volkswagen used the name 09A/09B for it, and English Jaguars and Land Rovers used the name JF506E. American Ford used this gearbox under the name 5F31J in its Mondeo and Galaxy models.
