A500 - In 1988, a 4-speed automatic transmission was introduced. Initially, it was installed in Dodge pickups, but after modification in 1994 (42RE) it was used in the famous Jeeps with engines from 4.0L. The 44RE modification was intended for engines with a capacity of 5.0 l for gasoline engines and 3.0 l for diesel engines. Structurally, the A500 is similar to the A904 gearbox and was also installed in Mitsubishi pickups with RWD drive.
