RA4A-EL, RB4A-EL, RE4R01A - The 4-speed gearbox appeared on the market in 1987 and was installed in RWD and AWD cars with an engine capacity of 2.0 l to 4.5 l. This gearbox was used in cars such as the Nissan Pathfinder and PickUp X-Terra. It is believed that the gearbox rarely broke down and was very reliable. Over the years, the RA4A-EL gearbox was modernized many times, as a result of which its control unit was changed - instead of the hydraulic control (RL4R01A), an electronic unit (RE4R01A) was used. All modifications of this automatic transmission have the same design and differ only in some elements.

RL4R01A, JR402E - The 4-speed gearbox with hydraulic control appeared on the market in 1987 and was installed in Nissan cars (Pathfinder, PickUp X-Terra) with RWD and AWD drives and engines with a capacity of 2.0 l to 4.5 l.

RE4R03A, JR404E - The 4-speed gearbox appeared on the market in 1988 on the Nissan Patrol off-road vehicle and cars with an engine capacity of 2.0 l to 3.0 l. Later, after positive market verification, it was widely installed on RWD and AWD cars. It was used in sports Nissan 300ZX and Infiniti Q45 with V8 engines.
