4EAT-G, G4A-EL, G4A-HL - The 4-speed gearbox appeared on the market in 1987 and was installed in Mazda (626) and Ford (Probe) cars. In 1989, the gearbox appeared on the market and was considered very solid. Mazda used the name G4A-EL, while Ford uses the name 4EAT-G.

GF4EAT, 4EAT-GF - the 4EAT-G gearbox modification with electronic control was installed in cars with engines from 1.6 l to 2.5 l. GF4A-EL was used in the Mazda MX6, Millenia and MPV, while 4EAT-GF was installed in the Kia Clarus and Concord. Both modifications differ from each other in some elements.
